Emergency Response Ready

Disaster Prep DSC 9406

As an Emergency Placement Partner for The Humane Society of the United States, PAWS received young cats and kittens from shelters in Florida impacted by Hurricane Michael on October 19. Together, we are transporting animals who were living in Florida shelters to PAWS to increase shelter capacity in communities impacted by the hurricane and provide more room for pets displaced by the storm.

Relocating the animals also provides relief for the shelters damaged by the storm and gives the already-adoptable animals a second chance at finding forever homes. Our average cost of care from intake through adoption is $380 per animal. Donate at paws.org/donate – every little bit helps. We also have an increased need for foster families, Those interested may apply for a November 11 training at PAWS.org/foster
